Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of optimizing your content and brand so AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews — mention and cite you inside their generated answers. Unlike SEO, which targets ranked links, GEO targets being named within the answer itself.
