What this checks
AI assistants answer from pages they can fetch and read. We check the basics that decide that: whether the bots that fetch pages for answers are allowed by robots.txt, whether your text is in the HTML (not only added by JavaScript), whether you describe your business in structured data, and whether you offer a sitemap and an llms.txt.
Each check is pass, warning or fail and the score weights them by how much they matter. Informational items, like which training bots you block, don't change the score.
AI readiness questions
What's the difference between search bots and training bots?
Search and user bots (like OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot or Claude-SearchBot) fetch your pages to answer a person's question. Training bots (like GPTBot or ClaudeBot) collect data to train models. Blocking training bots is a legitimate choice and doesn't stop assistants from answering with your site.
Why does readable text matter so much?
Most AI crawlers read the raw HTML your server sends and don't run JavaScript. If your page is empty until a script loads the content, they see almost nothing.
Is structured data required?
No, but it's the clearest way to tell machines who you are: your business name, what you sell, where you operate. Organization or LocalBusiness markup in JSON-LD is the most useful starting point.
My score is 100. Will AI recommend me?
Not automatically. Readiness removes the technical obstacles. Being recommended also depends on whether other sources mention you and whether your content answers customer questions. That's what the free visibility scan measures.
Do you keep my data?
No. We fetch your public pages, calculate the result and return it. We don't store your site or the result.
